LTC John McLeod


I am the Senior Army Instructor here at "The Baptist Hill Middle High School." I am excited to continue my commitment to the Mighty Bobcat Team in teaching the future leaders of Hollywood, Charleston County, South Carolina and beyond. I currently instruct Junior ROTC (Leadership & Citizenship) to grades 9-12 .

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) McLeod received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and an Army commission as a Second Lieutenant from The South Carolina State University.  He earned a Masters of Arts in Management from Webster University.  His military education includes the Infantry Officer’s Basic Course; US Army Flight School; Aviation Officer’s Advanced Course, and the UH-60 Qualification Course; Combined Arms Services Staff School; and Command and General Staff College.

The military awards and decorations received by LTC McLeod are numerous.  His most significant include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (6 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation (2 OLC), the Joint Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, The Global War on Terrorism-Expeditionary, the Global War on Terrorism-Service Medal, NATO & Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, the Southwest Asia Medal with Bronze Start device, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 5, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, The Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Mobilization Device and Numeral 10, The National Defense Service Medal with Star, The Army Forces COTR, the Combat Action Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Senior Army Aviator Badge. His regimental affiliation is 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, KY.
