I am a Charleston native and a graduate of Fayetteville State University. Though this is my second year teaching at Baptist Hill, I have been teaching for 10 years. I have taught in North Carolina and Maryland.

I believe that teaching English language arts means teaching skills around critical thinking, researching, and the general synthesis of written and oral knowledge in a caring and connected manner-to all students who walk through the door. It is my job as an English teacher who cares deeply about her students to give them every chance to succeed within the context of language arts.

My desire to engage, challenge, and inspire growth in my students is not limited to the classroom. I have also established a girls mentoring group at the school called My Sister's Keeper. The purpose of the organization is to encourage high academic standards, develop concern and pride for self, home, and community.
