High school seniors are invited to participate in a free Java workshop on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 9-4. Java is the most valuable programming language to learn first. Google, Youtube, Facebook, Wikipedia and Twitter are all written in Java. Click here to learn more and register.
CCSD is partnering with Boeing to offer paid Spring 2017 internships to seniors who are interested in the airplane manufacturing industry. The internship offers high school credit and hourly compensation. Click here to learn more and apply. The deadline to apply is December 9, 2016.
Students can get paid to learn through Trident Technical College! Paid Youth Apprenticeships are available for rising juniors and seniors for next school year. There are opportunities in the areas of manufacturing, hospitality & tourism, information technology, healthcare, and HVAC. TTC will be hosting an information session on Thursday, February 2, 2017 for parents and students to get more information. See the flyer here for dates and times of information sessions.
Seniors, you are now able to request transcripts from Guidance through Naviance. This will make the process much easier and quicker for the colleges to receive your transcripts. See guidance for more directions.
Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church will host several College tours during the 16-17 school year. The cost of each trip is between $10 - $20. The next school they will be touring is Claflin University on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Please see here for other schools and dates this year. See Guidance if you would like to sign up.
High school students interested in visiting Converse College in Spartanburg, SC can receive a $200 travel voucher. Their application is also free. Visit this website or see guidance for more information.
We encourage all students to log in to their Naviance/Family Connections accounts and explore the many things this site has to offer. This site has valuable information geared towards, college, career, and success planning. Please remember there are several tasks that you are required to complete before the end of the year. IGP's- Individual Graduation Plans must be completed by school counselors with all students and parents in grades 8-12 every school year. Counselors have began to schedule and hold these meetings. Please feel free to contact guidance if you would like to go ahead and schedule your child's IGP!!
