Interim Principal - Jason Drayton
I arrive to Baptist Hill as a seasoned educator, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a father and husband. My wife, Shandra, and I have three beautiful children, Jaxon (8), London (10), and Laila (14). I look forward to introducing my family to the many wonderful people who call Baptist Hill “home” in the near future. The 2024-2025 school year will mark my 23rd year in education. Since graduating from Morris Brown and Charleston Southern, I have worked at Wando High School for the past 21 years gaining a wide range of experiences and responsibilities. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as an administrator where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. The principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community and our nation.
High School Assistant Principal - Farrakhan James
Middle School Assistant Principal - Marianne Preudhomme
Ms. Preudhomme has served students and families for over seventeen years through her career in education. Previously she taught Middle School Social Studies and English Language Arts. Ms. Preudhomme also served as an AVID Coordinator and Elective teacher for four years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon and her Master's of Education in Middle School Social Studies and English Language Arts from Georgia State University. In addition she also holds a Master's of Educational Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and was Teacher of the Year for her school in 2011. Ms.Preudhomme is the proud parent of three adult children.
